The Bunkhouse, sleeping up to 11 people
Originally built in 1700s and converted in 2012, and further renovated in 2018, the Upper Room Bunkhouse is basic hostel accommodation.
Here you can enjoy the same great location on our working farm, nestled under Peel Hill with its spectacular views north and south along the west coast of the Isle of Man, and eastwards across the central valley to Douglas.
Just a short walk up Peel Hill brings you to the 95 mile coastal path of the Isle of Man, the Raad ny Foillan, and you are only ever a short walk from all the amenities of Peel.
The Upper Room Bunk Barn is accessed through a barn, past the two toilets and showers. Up a wooden staircase you come to the 19m x 5m wide bunk room, which retains many of the old “A-frame” beams.
At one end is the dormitory bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds and 3 single beds. Each has a small bedside cabinet and there is a chest of drawers. At the other end is the family room with a double and single bed, bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers. Each bed is made up with duvet and pillows. Towels are also provided.
The living room room has a lovely wood-burning stove and dining table with ten chairs. There is a simple kitchenette for basic cooking and reasonable food storage area. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and a small sink. There are three settees and a large screen with TV/DVD.
The 2 toilets and showers are in the room below.
The windows look into our barn where the animals spend the night! The back door opens onto the paddock with the Wigwams and playground.
